Location & Accommodation

Your placement will be in one of many 3 to 5-star hotels or traditional to Michelin-starred restaurants all over Greece with accommodation and meals provided.
You will be staying in staff housing, usually situated on-site. This is shared with other staff members, typically 4-5 people shared rooms separated by gender. It is not luxurious but practical and simple. It’s important to note that accommodation is fully covered and provided at no cost to you.
Your Role & Pay

All roles are full-time hours of 48 hours per week (1 day off per week). Roles can be divided into 3 categories – kitchen, food & beverage, and hotel. The exact role will vary depending on the employer, so please keep in mind that your role can be a combination of more than just one role!
- Kitchen positions: Kitchen Porter, Commis Chef
- Food & Beverage positions: Waiter/Server, Barback/Bartender
- Hotel positions: Housekeeper, Receptionist (local language fluency required)
Greece will increase its gross monthly minimum wage to €920 effective April 1, 2026. You can expect to earn about €800-€1100 per month, depending on the employer and position.
Plan for adequate funds to cover your time off and food expenses for the first month until you receive your initial paycheck. By joining this program, your on-site expenses remain minimal. Accommodation, insurance, taxes, and other deductions are handled directly by the employer, so most of your essentials are already covered.
This means your main costs will be food outside working hours and any personal travel you choose to enjoy during your stay, making your entire work and travel program truly worthwhile!

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY:
- Be a Canadian citizen eligible for the Greek working holiday visa
- Be available for at least 6 months of work; 3 months if ALL OF July & August are included (excluding the 2-week paperwork)
- Provide a birth certificate – this is required to obtain the Greek AFM (tax number)
WORKING HOLIDAY VISA ELIGIBILITY
- Be a Canadian citizen with a valid Canadian passport
- Be between 18-35 years old (inclusive)
- Have a return ticket or show that you have enough money to buy a ticket for the return journey
- Provide proof of funds (approx. $3,000 CAD)
- Pay the visa fee of 100 EUR
- Provide a copy of the Penal Certificate issued by Canadian Authorities
- Obtain a medical fitness certificate
- Have insurance that covers the full duration of your stay in Greece
- Intend to stay for a min. duration of 4 months in Greece
- Other documents may be requested depending on your province and consulate office

No, previous experience is not required for a job placement. However, we do ask that you remain flexible with the type of position offered. Gaining a bit of experience before your departure can be helpful to better understand the tasks and expectations in a hospitality job, but it’s absolutely not a requirement to join the program.
Yes, we will try to accommodate two participants with the same employer, but please note that it cannot be guaranteed. Each participant will have to apply for their visas separately.
Please note that the placement process considers the country as a whole to ensure the feasibility of the placement. There are many potential hotels and restaurants across the entire country, and placements are made based on overall availability to ensure the best match.
Your application will be considered for opportunities in all regions of the selected country, depending on employer needs at the time of placement. While we are happy to note your location preference and will prioritise it whenever possible, we cannot guarantee placement in a specific city or area.
Regarding city requests specifically, please be aware that accommodation is not provided in large cities, which is why most placements are based in countryside locations where employers are able to offer housing.
