The Go International Gap Year Bursary Program is designed to support high school youth between the ages of 17-19 who are interested in participating in a gap year program with Go International. This bursary provides financial assistance of up to CA$1,000 to offset travel costs to help students gain valuable international work experience, engage in cultural exchange, develop personal growth opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria
- Age: Must be between the ages of 17 – 19yrs at the time of the application submission. If the applicant is 17, they can apply for the visa and travel once they turn 18.
- High School Status: Must have completed high school or be in the process of completing high school by the application date.
- Citizenship: Must be a Canadian citizen with a valid Canadian passport.
- Commitment: Must be committed to participating in a 3 – 6-month gap year program abroad.
- Character: Must demonstrate motivation and interest to work and travel abroad.
- Visa: Must be eligible for the working holiday (or youth mobility) visa for the destination of choice. Check your visa eligibility.

Terms and Conditions
1. Use of Funds:
- The bursary funds must be used exclusively for program-related expenses (travel, accommodation, program fees, and living costs).
- The bursary cannot be transferred to other individuals or used for non-program-related expenses (e.g., personal vacations, entertainment) or cash payment.
2. Commitment to Program:
- Bursary recipients must commit to completing the full duration of the gap year program (typically 3 – 6 months).
- If a recipient withdraws from the program before completion without a valid reason, they may be required to repay the bursary.
- Recipient must travel within 12 months of receiving bursary.
3. Reporting Requirements:
- Recipients must be willing to share their experiences through photos and videos frequently to promote work and travel abroad opportunities to other Canadian other youth.
- At the end of the program, recipients will be asked to submit a final 30 second – 1 minute video detailing the impact of the experience on their personal and professional growth.
4. Program Expectations:
- Bursary recipients are expected to adhere to all program rules, regulations, and policies outlined by Go International during their gap year experience.
- Participants are expected to maintain high standards of conduct, including respect for cultural differences and adherence to safety guidelines.
5. Promotion and Publicity:
- By accepting the bursary, recipients agree to allow Go International to use their photos and story in promotional materials (e.g., website, social media, newsletters) related to the gap year program.
6. Deadline and Notification:
- Application deadlines will be announced on the Go International website, and successful applicants will be notified within 4-6 weeks of the application deadline.
- If selected, recipients must confirm their participation within 10 business days to secure the bursary.
